Description
Medical City Healthcare seeks an experienced RN for our Bone Marrow Transplant unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this highly specialized role, you will deliver comprehensive care to adult BMT patients across pre‑, peri‑ and post‑transplant phases. Responsibilities include chemotherapy and biotherapy administration, central line management, infection prevention, and vigilant monitoring for graft‑versus‑host disease and treatment toxicities. You will collaborate closely with transplant physicians, pharmacists and coordinators, educate patients and families, and support continuous quality improvement to uphold program excellence and patient safety.Provide comprehensive nursing care to Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) patients throughout pre‑, peri‑ and post‑transplant phases
Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products and supportive medications per evidence‑based BMT protocols
Continuously assess, monitor and document patient status, lab trends, toxicities and graft‑versus‑host indicators
Coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, social workers and case managers
Educate patients and families on transplant process, infection prevention, medications and discharge plans
Maintain strict infection control, central line care and isolation precautions to protect immunocompromised patients
Manage oncologic and transplant emergencies, escalating care and activating rapid response when indicated
Use EMR and clinical information systems to document care, orders and outcomes accurately and timely
Precept new nurses, participate in quality improvement and uphold transplant program accreditation standards
Advocate for patient safety, ethical care and exceptional patient experience within the BMT unit

Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation

Active, unrestricted RN license in state of practice
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or in progress
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) or Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN) preferred
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Chemotherapy/biotherapy provider certification from recognized oncology body
