This is a remote position that is located in Virginia.  Candidates must have the flexibility to travel to OrthoVirginia locations throughout the state.

Position Summary

OrthoVirginia is the largest multidisciplinary musculoskeletal healthcare provider in Virginia and seeks to contribute to the musculoskeletal care with well-defined and rewarding employee culture and competitive compensation. The Director, Total Rewards will lead all aspects of compensation and benefits. This includes managing the design, implementation, administration, communication and ongoing evaluation of OrthoVirginia's compensation and benefit programs (i.e., 'Total Rewards'), policies, and procedures, at the enterprise level; ensuring the programs support the organization's business objectives and meet all legal requirements. The role will conduct on going assessments of job functions and associated compensation using market analysis and benchmarking to ensure that OrthoVirginia is competitive and an 'employer of choice", in the job market. As an integral part of the HR team, this role ensures that rewards and recognition programs champion a culture of wellness throughout the practice and leads benefit program design to effectively foster collaboration and contribute to the advancement of patient care and the mission of OrthoVirginia.

Primary Functions & Accountabilities

  • Design and direct consistent and equitable compensation, benefits, wellness/wellbeing flexibility, performance recognition, and career development programs that serve the entire practice (i.e., 'Total Rewards') and retain top talent.
  • Oversees policy design benefits programs for employees, medical benefits, disability coverage, leave, retirement benefits, etc. and communicates with benefits providers as needed to solutions.
  • Assesses the competitiveness of the firm's recognition, benefits, insurance, and well-being programs using external benchmarks. Conduct ongoing market compensation analysis to ensure best practices/competitive pay across all job groups within the practice. Recommend changes as necessary.
  • Lead merit process in partnership with finance and performance management processes.
  • Develop and present creative solutions that drive continuous improvement by responding to changes in the labor market.
  • Provide guidance on policy and guideline interpretation to all internal stakeholder's vendors, and employees.
  • Direct financial analysis and impact assessments and utilizes financial modeling as a decision-making tool and partner with finance and other executive leaders to impact decisions. Determines meaningful metrics to assess plan finances, resolve complex vendor issues, and designing cost-effective benefits
  • Evaluate benefit plan providers and vendors, work closely with benefit brokers
  • Lead communication process for compensation and benefits to ensure employees have access to benefit education and oversee the annual Open Enrollment process, understand compensation philosophy and process.
  • Champions wellness across the firm, designing programs aimed to boost overall employee well-being and wellness philosophy
  • Drives accountability, ensuring goals are met, managing project timelines and resource allocation, training team on proper Wellbeing & Total Rewards policies and procedures, and driving team innovation and performance
  • Design and deliver enterprise reward and recognition programs
  • Develop Total Rewards role and future team to support initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience of progressive experience in benefits management and compensation benchmarking, job market analysis, and administration.
  • Experienced people leader
  • Data-driven and analytical thinker who can communicate concepts effectively.
  • Knowledge and experience of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and/or similar software.
  • Knowledge of various HR reporting and benefit systems and software.
  • Collaborative problem solver. Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Must have a service-oriented, forward thinking, strategic and solution-minded mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field of study.
  • Working knowledge with ADP.
