Description
Provides relevant school-based physical therapy and evaluation services to students with various needs and differences with sensory, gross motor, and ambulation issues related to educational performance. Collaborates with team members and families regarding strategies and techniques to ensure carryover of skills in the classroom and at home. Position can be part-time or full-time, depending on the needs of the applicant.
Requirements
- Delivers effective and educationally relevant treatment services.
- Possesses and demonstrates knowledge of current strategies and best practice techniques.
- Completes evaluations that accurately and effectively identify strengths and needs. Utilizes standardized and non-standardized tools that are culturally diverse and appropriate when applicable
- Communicates effectively with teachers, families, and other educational team members in oral/written formats in both formal and non-formal situations.
- Completes written work in a timely manner, including progress notes and annual reviews. All paperwork is legible, accurate, and adheres to codes of professional ethics.
- Submits all required billing, service verification logs, and semimonthly billing in a timely manner.
- Displays competency in providing strategies that are appropriate, including measurable outcomes, as part of the student's IEP.
- Selects and adapts appropriate activities, incorporating a variety of intervention models.
- Assesses progress on an ongoing basis and modifies as needed.
- Takes responsibility for seeking supervision/consultation in relation to clinical performance.
- Attends and participates in IEP and/or pre-planning meetings as requested.
- Ability to independently reason and solve problems related to self, staff, or others.
- Tact, initiative and judgment in the performance of duties
