Description
The Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Neurology has a rich tradition in academic neurology with a national reputation in neurological education and neuroscience research. The department is located in the Indiana University Health Neuroscience Center, a state-of-the-art outpatient center that unites all the specialties that involve nervous system disorders Neurology, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neuropsychology and Neuroradiology. It is also home of the main outpatient Neurophysiology laboratory at IU Health. The adjoining IU School of Medicine Neurosciences Research Building enables clinicians, basic scientists and clinician-scientists to collaborate in an environment that is rarely achieved in academic medicine.Job Summary
Department Specific Responsibilities
- Completes physical therapy assessments as dictated by a clinical research protocol.
- Completes protocol training for physical therapy assessments.
- Administers therapeutic treatments utilizing physical agents, biomechanical and neurophysiological principles, and assistive devices in relieving pain, restoring maximum functions, and preventing disability following diseases or injury.
- Evaluates patients and develops patient care plans, provides direct patient care, documents all pertinent information , and educates patients and others regarding the treatment plan and procedures.

EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) approved curriculum

- Proficient communication skills
